STITCH:
Use single crochet and double crochet for top of pouch and whip stitch throughout body of pouch.
WHIP STITCH:
Thread over, insert hook in stitch specified, draw up a 5/8’’ loop, thread over, insert hook in same stitch, draw up another 5/8’’ loop and pull through the 5 loops on hook and make 1 half dc in stitch specifie d. (This completes one whip stitch).
TO START:
Chain 100 and join with sl st to form ring. Ch 2, turn.
1ST ROW: Make 1 sc in each st of foundation chain picking up two loops and join with sl st to ch -2 at start. Cg 3, turn.
2ND ROW: Make 1 dc in each st of previous row picking up front loop only and join with sl st to ch-3 at start. Ch. 3, turn.
3RD, 4TH AND 5TH ROWS: Work same as 2nd row picking up back loop only and join with sl st to ch-3 at start. Do not turn after end of 5th row. Ch 2.
6TH ROW: Make 1 sc in each st of previous row picking up back loop only and join with sl st to ch-2 at start. Ch 3.
7TH ROW: Make 1 dc in each of the next 3 sts of previous row picking up both loops, make a whip st inserting hook in same st as last sc of previous row and make 1 half dc in last dc made to complete whip st. * Make 1 dc in each of the next 3 sts, make a whip st inserting hook in the same st as the half dc and make 1 half dc in last dc made and repeat from * to end of row and join with sl st to ch-3 at start. Ch 3.
8TH ROW: Make 1 dc in each of the next 3 sts, make a whip st inserting hook in top of last whip st in previous row, make 1 half dc in top of following whip st of previous row, skip one st and repeat from * to end of row always joining with sl st to ch-3 at start.
9TH TO 18TH ROW: or until desired depth of pouch is made:
Work same as 8th row. Fold in half and join both sides with sl sts, sew in lining and zipper
